In an act that took place in Riohacha, the Director in Charge of Corpocesar Yolanda Martínez and the Director of Corpoguajira Samuel Lanao, signed the joint commission resolution No.0249 of Corpocesar and No. 1182 of Corpoguajira through which the Environmental Management and Ordinance Plan of the hydrographic basin of the Chiriaimo and Manaure rivers is adopted, taking into account that it is a shared basin between the two departments with an area of influence in the municipalities of La Paz, San Diego, Manaure, (in Cesar) and La Jagua del Pilar and Urumita (in La Guajira).
The Pomca is an important planning tool that seeks to improve the conditions of water basins through the development of plans and projects that allow the adoption of measures for the conservation and protection of renewable natural resources.; to restrict, modify and guide the utilization practices and the establishment of limits and controls to the use and type of activities that may be carried out or are necessary for the restoration of the strategic ecosystems of the Basin.
The Director of Corpoguajira highlighted the importance of the Pomca on the Chiriaimo and Manaure rivers, since its execution will bring great benefits to the communities that inhabit the area of influence of these water basins. “I welcome the presence of the Director in charge of Corpocesar, Dr. Yolanda Martínez since this institutional articulation is a great step for the ordering of the hydrographic basins of both departments ", said Samuel Lanao, Director Corpoguajira.
