CORPOGUAJIRA AND FOUNDATION WOMEN WARRIORS UNITE FOR COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENTAL WELFARE OF SHRIMP Wayuu

A new partnership between Corpoguajira undertaken and the Foundation "warrior women of the community" benefit allowed in a day, a 54 mothers of families and more than one hundred Wayuú children in a situation of social verifiability in the community of Camarones, district of Riohacha.

The event began with a talk by professionals from the environmental education area of ​​Corpoguajira., whose greatest challenge was to achieve the understanding and participation of Wayuú women and children, priority for training.

Recognition of the environment through recreational and pedagogical activities; the man connection- nature as a space for healthy living; the need to take ownership of their environment as a responsible act with the health of the family and the urgency to multiply knowledge that would allow learning to separate solid waste from the sources, generated special interest in this space created for the exchange of knowledge.

It should be noted that within its training Corpoguajira is respectful of the ancestral ethnic group for the contributions to the culture of our department evidenced in the language., usos, customs and oral tradition, inter. For this reason, knowledge exchanges are done in Wayunaiki and Spanish., the two official languages ​​of the department.

In the little ones, The recognition activities from the environment that include learning about the species of fauna and flora of the place were the source of inspiration to create their small works of art that included the recognition of the species of the place., the endemic and existing animals in the department as well as the importance of the dry forest biomes of Camarones..

The activity carried out allowed us to formulate the diagnosis of food security and other situations of social vulnerability present in the indigenous community that lives in the district..

The “Women Warriors for the Community” Foundation has more than 200 women from the Atlantic coast united to support communities in the Colombian Caribbean in situations of social vulnerability, especially those who serve as mothers and heads of household.
