The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira will initiate this 20 February at the House of Culture of Distraction a program of five forums to recognize the importance of the awareness process for the formalization of the subsistence mining trade.

The schedule of these activities continues in Villanueva on 21 de febrero, The remaining three are scheduled to be worked in the municipalities of Manaure, Maicao and Dibulla the days 22, 26 and 27 respectively.

The project is framed in the execution of the contract signed between Corpoguajira and the Preservar Foundation whose objective is to implement the Environmental and Urban Sector Management program in the municipalities of La Guajira. As a compliance strategy, the intervened community is trained in citizen environmental education projects towards good sustainable production and consumption in small-scale mining. .

Legally, much of the responsibility for this mining formalization process falls on the mayors, who became excellent allies for the development of the forums.- debate, The invitation was extended to mining workers who are already involved in the process of mining formalization in each Municipality., also to the Government Secretaries, Hacienda, Planning and Economic Development, Military authorities, police and army, la DIAN, Attorney, Environmental and Agrarian Attorney General's Office.

The debate forums are a generator of ideas from the experience of each of the guests and participants that will allow a serious diagnosis to be carried out on the need to formalize small-scale mining., its drawbacks and difficulties.
