Today the discussion will be held in the municipality of Urumita "Building knowledge about Gardening and the Urumita Calagualas, La Guajira" starting at 08:00 a.m. at the club La Gota Fría. Gardening is a traditional trade that has been practiced in this population since its inception thanks to the benefits of the climate, water flow and the imposing presence of the Serranía de Perijá: perfect joint for the growth and development of Calaguala flowers and ferns. One of the attractions of this festival is the route that natives and visitors can take, appreciating the efforts of the participants.

The objective of the academic event will be oriented towards the analysis of the impact that the gardening profession generates in different dimensions of daily life and the permanence and stability of our environment.

During the discussion the first part will be devoted to the contribution that the gardening service makes to the environmental and cultural system, considering issues like gardens and climate change, gardens and vallenata composition and the intervention of the planters, Absolute owners of this intangible heritage of the urumiteros.
