
The Director General of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro, It was appointed by the Ordinaira General Assembly of the Association of Regional Autonomous Corporations and Sustainable Development (Asocars), as Chief of the Integrated National Committee of Coastal Zone Management (CNMIZC); body aims for presentation, coordination and harmonization of policies and programs related to the development of ocean spaces, It is also responsible for ensuring the political and administrative support of the Central Government, to resolve conflicts, promote cooperation between institutions and obtain international support required.
Medina Toro, will be the representative and spokesman of the CAR, before the CNMIZC and will support various functions, including: integrating different levels of government management of coastal areas (horizontally, and vertically); establish guidelines to generate community involvement in the development of marine natural resources and ensure the intervention of the authorities and public officials who perform management of coastal resources.
Entities that make up the CNMIZC are: the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, Invemar, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, National Navy of Colombia, Directorate General Risk, Asocars, National Federation of Municipalities and the Executive Secretariat of the Colombian Commission of the Ocean.
