The General Director of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro; Today he toured several municipalities of La Guajira, to supervise the progress status of the works that are executed with the entity's resources, approved by the Collegiate Body of Administration and Decision (OCAD).

The agenda began in the municipality of Uribia, where the improvement works were inspected, cleaning the channel and construction of protection works in the Kutanamana and Chemarraín streams.

In Maicao, The technical visit was carried out in the San José canal area, place where the recovery and cleaning of the area is carried out.

The day also included activities in Los Remedios (India), related to the review of the flood protection project on the right and left banks of El Arroyito.

In the southern department, The supervisions were carried out in Barrancas and San Juan del Cesar, to verify the progress of the construction and adaptation of indigenous reservation reservoirs, building gabion walls to control erosion, the recovery of the right bank of the Cesar River and the eradication of satellite dumps.

The OCAD of Corpoguajira is responsible for defining the investment projects submitted for its consideration., that are financed with resources from the General Royalties System. Additionally, it is responsible for evaluating, enable, approve and prioritize the convenience and opportunity of financing them and designate their executor.

The organization is made up of representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of La Guajira, Albanian Mayor's Office, Mayor's Office of San Juan del Cesar, among other organizations.
