The work was carried out jointly between both entities and included the construction of channeling works., channeling and gabions in longitudinal and breakwater type walls.

As part of the invitation issued by Corpoguajira, the Minister of Environment, will also participate in a working group with several officials of the Corporation and the Municipal Mayors of Barrancas, Fonseca, San Juan del Cesar and Albania; to analyze different aspects of the works carried out between MADS and Corpoguajira, with the purpose of achieving the reestablishment of elements of structure and function of the DMI Serranía de Perijá, through active and passive restoration, process that will result in the reconversion of land use, so that in the future it will be completely covered by protective vegetation, thus achieving the gradual recovery of the natural functions that they originally offered.
