The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira – Corpoguajira in coordination with the Preserve Corporation and the municipal administration of Villanueva under the contract 061 of 2018 “Implementation of the Sectoral and Urban Environmental Management Program in the Municipalities of La Guajira”, They organized the activity called eco-hike to Potrero Grande.

The main objective of the activity was to promote a healthy lifestyle., the dissemination and implementation of the national environmental education policy adapted to the productive sectors and the community, raising awareness among attendees about the importance of efficient and rational use of water, the protection and recovery of our ecosystems and the reduction of our carbon footprint.

Aproximadamente 60 people responded to the call and from 5:00 am they started the exercise towards the goal.

The sports and environmental culture is growing in this municipality represented by a group of mountain bikers and hikers..

The arrival point was the place called Potrero Grande, located at 8 kilometers from the town center; on the banks of the Villanueva River, hydration and a fruit snack were offered, ending the day with great satisfaction for the knowledge acquired and the promotion of healthy activities that contribute to the conservation of natural resources.
