La Corporación Autónoma Regional de La Guajira recibió un nuevo reconocimiento por su gestión en la protección de los ecosistemas del departamento. Esta vez, The National Army awarded a decoration to our entity, thanks to the joint work carried out between both institutions to safeguard the flora, fauna and other natural resources located in the jurisdiction.

During a ceremony held at the facilities of the Cartagena Battalion located in the city of Riohacha, the General Director of the Corporation, Engineer Luis Medina Toro, received a plaque from the commander of this military division, Raymond John Buemberger Ruiz, recognizing the management and public excellence of the entity.

Corpoguajira works in coordination with the National Army to exercise due control over the natural resources of the department, especially in rural areas.

Both institutions usually exercise control in the ecosystems of protected areas such as the Serranía del Perijá and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta., This last place being where it has provided great support to the entity and the relief agencies that worked in recent days to put out several fire outbreaks that occurred in the forest area.. The Army carried out several overflights in the emergency area to be able to control and define the dimensions of the damage caused by the fire., which will be a great help for Corpoguajira when executing recovery actions.
