Under the project to strengthen the system of administration and management of regional protected areas, initiate training workshops environment and peace keepers, community in general and students from different educational institutions in the department of La Guajira.

Corpoguajira in its responsibility to preserve the natural resources of its jurisdiction, carries out actions for the formulation of the comprehensive training plan for the actors present in the protected areas covered by said project (DMI Ranchería River Delta, DMI Serranía del Perijá, RFP Manantial de Cañaverales and DMI Lower Basin of the Ranchería River).

The workshops began with the guardians of the DMI Delta del Río Ranchería located in a rural area of ​​the Riohacha District, where, under the guidance of an environmental engineer specializing in ecotourism, they took the first steps to train in the protection and preservation of ecosystems., bird watching and community tourism.

The objective of carrying out the workshops is to have trained personnel in the 4 attention and information centers, one for each monitoring cabin that will be available in the different regional protected areas to intervene. The above will allow the conservation of fauna and flora, aiming for sustainable tourism..
