The careless use of fire by failing to take appropriate agricultural activities and pasture regeneration precautions, are the main causes of forest fires, flames spreading unchecked, consuming plant material located in areas suitable for forestry or those who without being have an agroforestry use or fulfill an environmental function.

Given that we are in a period of drought and high winds, Corpoguajira calls farmers and peasants of the department, to avoid taking burns, and are controlled. Follow these tips:
– Under no circumstances set fire to the field.
– Do not throw down, or highways, matches, butts, cigarettes or burning objects.
– Do not throw the paper down, patch, Plastics, glass or any type of waste or combustible material which may cause a fire.
– No fires.

In the event of a forest fire:
– Note the direction of the fire and provide an escape.
– Try going to the most deprived areas of vegetation.
– Breathe with a damp handkerchief covering his mouth and nose.
– Try to stay with firewalls or natural barriers (I laugh, roads).
– Remain calm and obey the instructions of forest officials or civil protection.
