Pink flamingos are species that frequently suffer the scourge of trafficking and illegal possession, Because it is an exotic bird, it is chosen by unscrupulous people as a decorative element for its properties, a practice typified in Colombian regulations as a crime against natural resources and the environment.
The successful process was carried out thanks to the alliance between two environmental authorities, the Magdalena Regional Autonomous Corporation, that carried out the process of rescue and delivery to Corpoguajira for its evaluation, recovery and happy return to its original environment.
