For the fifth consecutive time, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of C.R.A Atlantic alliance with private enterprise Ultracem, and with the support of the regional autonomous corporations of the Caribbean region, awarded environmental leadership, with a recognition to the anonymous heroes, researchers, maestros, Business, foundations and institutions that work with great effort for the conservation and protection of the planet.

In its fifth version, the award statuetteStrategic Management for a Sustainable Environment GEMAS 2019” has been awarded to the best projects in the Caribbean region, in the five categories like this: Environmental citizen, Environmental Organization, Environmental Education and Research, Green Business and the Education category School Version; where the San Rafael del Pájaro Ethnoeducational Institution – Manaure, ocupó el segundo lugar contribuyendo a la sostenibilidad con su proyecto Escuela de saberes ancestrales Wayuu “Salewa’in mma”.

El emprendimiento que representó a La Guajira es apoyado por la Corporación Autónoma Regional de La Guajira, quienes lo orientan a cumplir los 12 criterios mediante asesorías para que logren ser un negocio verde y sostenible tal como lo direcciona el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible.

Cabe resaltar que el premio GEMAS es el único reconocimiento cuyo ámbito es de carácter regional, promovido por una autoridad ambiental para fortalecer a las comunidades, researchers and organizations around environmental issues, looking to the concepts of sustainability and development to connect.

Este reconocimiento que pretende impulsar la gestión ambiental de personas, organizaciones y entidades que han logrado constituirse en un referente de liderazgo ambiental y que demuestra el éxito de iniciativas en unión público-privada entre las corporaciones autónomas y empresas de diferentes sectores de la economía.

In the 5 versiones ya se han otorgado más de 38 premios y unos 300 millions of pesos, para fortalecer los proyectos ganadores, quienes reciben entre 5 and 10 millones de pesos en cada categoría.
