For the fifth consecutive time, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of C.R.A Atlantic alliance with private enterprise Ultracem, and with the support of the regional autonomous corporations of the Caribbean region, awarded environmental leadership, with a recognition to the anonymous heroes, researchers, maestros, Business, foundations and institutions that work with great effort for the conservation and protection of the planet.

In its fifth version, the award statuetteStrategic Management for a Sustainable Environment GEMAS 2019” has been awarded to the best projects in the Caribbean region, in the five categories like this: Environmental citizen, Environmental Organization, Environmental Education and Research, Green Business and the Education category School Version; where the San Rafael del Pájaro Ethnoeducational Institution – Manaure, He placed second in contributing to sustainability with his project School of Wayuu Ancestral Knowledge “Salewa’in mma”.

The venture that represented La Guajira is supported by the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, who guide him to fulfill the 12 criteria through consultancy so that they become a green and sustainable business as directed by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.

It should be noted that the GEMAS award is the only recognition whose scope is regional in nature., promoted by an environmental authority to strengthen communities, researchers and organizations around environmental issues, looking to the concepts of sustainability and development to connect.

This recognition that aims to promote the environmental management of people, organizations and entities that have managed to become a reference for environmental leadership and that demonstrate the success of initiatives in public-private union between autonomous corporations and companies from different sectors of the economy.

In the 5 versions have already been awarded more than 38 prizes and some 300 millions of pesos, to strengthen winning projects, those who receive between 5 and 10 millions of pesos in each category.
