«Prosperidad con Sostenibilidad», was the proposal submitted by the Director of Corpoguajira, Luis Medina Toro; which raises advancing mining with international standards of environmental control, to solve social and ecological problems, from environmental planning and land use planning.
The Director General of Corpoguajira, Luis Medina Toro, He was selected to participate as a panelist, in the General Assembly of the Association of Regional Autonomous Corporations and Sustainable Development (Asocars); evento en el que abordó el tema «Autoridad Ambiental ante la Locomotora Minera».
Speaking, Medina Toro, He explained in detail the role of Corpoguajira regarding mining on the peninsula; further he explained the need for greater coordination in this management, with the National Authority of Environmental Licenses (Understand) and the National Parks Unit of Colombia. In his presentation was also clear that it is important to define a policy of more rigorous mining in social and environmental, which allows not only the practice of responsible mining, that meets the parameters and regulatory requirements; but also guarantee the sustainability of the natural heritage in the regions prioritized.
Director Corpoguajira, también socializó la propuesta «Prosperidad con Sostenibilidad», which he was exalted by the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, Juan Gabriel Uribe Vegalara. The initiative raised, is advancing mining with international standards of environmental control to solve social problems and ecological, from environmental planning and land use planning. «A esto le llaman valor compartido. As part of the Assembly of Asocars, also it developed the National Council of Protected Areas – CONAP, Corpoguajira organism which represents the Caribbean Sirap.
