1.430 Trees were planted in La Guajira
Corpoguajira from its commitment to the conservation and recovery of forests in its territory, led and supported various tree planting days that were developed under the World Tree Day.
Every year, el 12 October environmental authority, entities in the region and wider community are articulated to raise awareness and promote conservation, through strategies that demonstrate the importance of trees in the ecosystem and thus its multiple benefits.
This effect La Guajira was awarded by planting 1.430 trees that were planted in the municipality of Maicao and Riohacha District as a first step, under the hinge and constant support of National Police, National Army, municipal authorities, Dimar, Interaseo, Uniguajira, PDA, Guardians of the Environment and Peace DMI Delta Rancheria and residents of different sectors.
Planting different fruit and ornamental species can provide city dwellers welfare, from environmental services such as scenic beauty, thermal and acoustic adjustment, water regulation, CO2 capture and emission of O2 and generation of habitat, especially for birds.
Note that during this week the technical group of the Corporation will continue to advise and raising awareness among the inhabitants of the department, allowing the realization of several days of planting in the southern municipalities and some educational institutions that are involved in the strategy of green schools.
