The problems associated with hazardous waste (RESPEL) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) , have become our primary concern. Such reasoning occurs due to the broad spectrum of risk, understanding from the potential spread of infectious diseases, to environmental risks arising from the methods used for treatment and disposal of these wastes.
Corpoguajira from 2008 began the process of implementing the register generators, equally in the 2010 formulating the plan made for the promotion and management of RESPEL in their jurisdiction; from 2011 began its implementation, since then it has developed a series of training, all sectors generating RESPEL, as monitoring visits to the management thereof.
For the subject of PCB, late 2012 was begun implementing Resolution 0222 the 2011, currently working on the formulation of PCB Management Plan.
At Present, hazardous waste is generated in farming, livestock, Industrial, automotive, and in the area of health. To date in the department exist about 219 generators registered in the register, handling a large volume of both solid and liquid RESPEL.
With the implementation of environmental regulations intended to generating entities implement a system of comprehensive waste management and also train their staff on the risks and preventive measures to avoid.
