The Director General of Corpoguajira, Samuel Lanao Robles, presided over the release of three needle alligators, in Dibulla, two of which were implanted with a transmitter that will allow permanent monitoring.

"The electronic devices that these alligators have will allow us to collect information and strengthen decision-making in the strategies that are being developed in terms of fauna conservation", specified Lanao Robles, who also invited citizens to join Corpoguajira to support the work of protecting wildlife, that has not only been hit by climate change but by human action, “I cordially extend this invitation so that you may be partners of the Corporation in the preservation of natural resources; I call on our fishermen friends not to retaliate against these reptiles and remember that environmental sustainability is everyone's commitment”, concluded.
To date, nine alligators have already been marked, of the ten that the study contemplates. The data produced by the electronic devices will be downloaded and analyzed on platforms such as Google Earth and Cvs.
