Management successfully advances Node and Insular Caribbean Climate Change

The 9 the 11 September 2013, He met in Santa Marta, Regional Node and Insular Caribbean Climate Change, in order to analyze the progress of the agreement between the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development (MADS) and WWF; which aims to strengthen national efforts towards sustainable development consistent with climate, by optimizing the Action Plans of the six existing nodes in the Country.

The event's agenda included training by officials of the National University (Medellin headquarters), in agreement with the MADS, on multi-criteria analysis to prioritize measures, adaptation or mitigation projects; to collectively develop draft adaptation node to allow obtaining resources.

During the meeting the presentation of the proposed change was also made to climate change and advances Cartagena Caribbean Project, by the United Nations Development Program.

The event was attended by representatives of the Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, Canal del Dique, Magdalena, Atlantic archipelago of San Andres and Providencia; likewise participated entities National Environmental System, as the Institute of Marine and Coastal Research –Invemar-, Unit National Parks, Administrative Department of the Environment of Barranquilla, MADS y WWF.

The Regional Node and Insular Caribbean Climate Change, It is operating since 2010, Since then coordination is carried out by the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira.
