Green Business Fair Caribbean Region: a great platform for our reactivation

  • For three more days of 60 Green businesses will present their sustainable products to the Colombian public through virtual means.
  • The ‘Green Business Fair at home 2020 - Caribbean Region ’will be carried out through the YouTube platform of the Ministry of the Environment, as well as from the CARDIQUE Facebook page.

 

Riohacha, 10 September 2020. In order to position the Green Businesses of the Caribbean Region in the Colombian market, the Autonomous Corporations of the Region and the Ministry of the Environment will carry out the ‘Green Business Fair at home 2020 - The Caribbean Region', that will be inaugurated on 16 September through the YouTube platform of the Ministry of the Environment and the 17 and 18 September will be broadcast from CARDIQUE's official Facebook.

The event will feature the participation of more than 60 green businesses verified by the Ministry of the Environment, that offer goods and services with a positive environmental impact and that are part of 11 Autonomous Corporations of the Colombian Caribbean: Corpoguajira, Corpamag, Cardique, Carsucre, Barranquilla Verde, CRA, CSB, Corpomojana, CVS, Corpocesar and EPA Cartagena.

These entrepreneurs, who work to produce goods and services that contribute to caring for the environment, will present a wide and varied offer that includes: body soaps from natural ingredients, household cleaning products based on the use of residues such as oils, Initiatives of unconventional sources of renewable energy for the electrification of homes, urban and architectural furniture precast in sustainable concrete, environmentally friendly fashion, art made from plastic bags, products for the household family basket such as chocolates, honeys and fruits, that do not generate polluting waste, inter alia.

Likewise, those who attend this virtual fair without leaving their home, you will find an attractive offer of nature tourism destinations such as ecotourism tours through La Guajira, Ethno-tourism in the department of Bolívar, hiking and bird watching in the Colombian Caribbean, inter alia, where they will have an experience of reconciliation with nature.

Meanwhile, the director of the Association of Regional Autonomous Corporations and Sustainable Development - Asocars, Ramon Leal, highlighted that "The Caribbean Region represents great potential due to the diversity of its ecosystems and the wealth and variety of products it generates for the country. The Green Businesses that are promoted here contribute to the generation of jobs and the environmental protection of strategic sites through the incorporation of good practices that are friendly to the environment.", said.

At Present, the Autonomous Corporations of the Caribbean Region, in a joint effort with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, they support 495 Green Businesses of the 1.958 verified in the country.

We are sure that nature-based solutions today are the right way. Do not miss out on meeting the women and young entrepreneurs, as well as the new generation of entrepreneurs who produce while conserving and conserve by producing!", stated the Minister of the Environment, Ricardo Lozano in his invitation to all Colombians to follow and support this virtual green fair.
