Firman pacto interinstitucional para ahorrar agua y energía en La Guajira

Teniendo en cuenta el llamado realizado por el Gobierno Nacional para implementar medidas que contribuyan a mitigar los impactos del Fenómeno de El Niño, Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, formalized the signing of the Pact for Water and Energy Savings, which was signed between official and private entities.
The event was chaired by the Governor of La Guajira, Oneida Pinto Pérez, Mayor of Riohacha, Fabio Velásquez Rivadeneira; the Director General of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro ; the General Manager of Asaa, William García Medina and the La Guajira Police Commander, Tito Castellanos Tuay.
During the event, conducted within the framework of the celebration of World Water Day, The different parties committed to applying measures to promote the efficient use and savings of water and energy in the productive and service sectors.; reduce the water footprint of Guajira, i.e., the impact generated by the inhabitants of the peninsula by consuming liters of water to sustain their basic needs.
Additionally, inter-institutional efforts will be joined to develop concrete actions that allow us to face the different climate variability events that currently occur in Colombia., mainly in La Guajira and to establish a quantitative goal to reduce water and energy consumption in La Guajira, which will be monitored by Corpoguajira.
The following were the entities that signed the pact: Corpoguajira, Government of La Guajira, Alcaldía de Riohacha, Jagua del Pilar Mayor's Office, Mayor of Uribia, Sena, Incoder, ICBF, Harbourmaster, National Police, Guajira Tours, Asaa, Cerrejón, Assembly of La Guajira and the Chamber of Commerce of La Guajira.
