Guardians of Environment and Peace of the Lower Rio Rancheria are prepared to provide ecotourism services

Corpoguajira he declared 32.443 conservation hectares of dry forest and scrub subxerofitíco covering the municipalities of Albania, Manaure and Riohacha; The Down Basin District of the Ranchería River is one of the 9 Protected Areas that the Department has, being essential for the preservation of different species.

The Integrated Management District Basin Basin of the Ranchería already has a cabin that will be used by the environment and peace guardians of this area to develop the tasks related to the conservation objects of the same.

In order to strengthen their skills the guardians of this important area of ​​the department began a cycle of training that will allow it to provide information on uses and prohibitions of the area and provide services to visitors related to ecotourism, Bird and identification sighting and interpretive trails for which they will guide tourists who will visit the lower basin in order to learn about the deferences that protect.

It should be noted that the basin houses 25 mammal species, 33 reptile, 22 amphibian, 116 of birds equivalent to 6.13% of the birds recorded nationally and almost a hundred species of plants.

This area also plays a decisive role in the supply of fresh water, To the coastal lagoon, contributing in this way to achieve the ecological balance of this lagoon ecosystem.
