FIRST MEETING OF REGIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE NODE INSULAR CARIBBEAN E

The Climate Change Nodes are national inter-institutional bodies, regional, departmental, local and interdisciplinary work groups that promote actions to adapt to climate change and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, In the Node, communication channels are strengthened between the entities of the National Climate Change System (SISCLIMA) and sectoral and territorial actors.

The objective is to contribute to the formulation, promotion, coordination and policy development, planes, local and regional strategies and projects that promote the development of the territory taking into account the variables of climate change. In this way they seek to reduce the vulnerability of the territory and increase its capacity to adapt and mitigate greenhouse gases..

Corpoguajira led the first meeting of the REGIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE NODE, counting on the participation of the actors that make up the Regional Node, The presence of the Regional Autonomous Corporations of the Caribbean Region stands out, the governorates of La Guajira, Cease, Atlántico and Magdalena, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and the universities of La Guajira, northern, Magdalena, Technological, Action Fund, Invemar, Daabon and delegates from the indigenous reservation of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

In this first meeting, the experiences in the implementation of the Comprehensive Climate Change Plans of the departments of Cesar and Atlántico were evident., in addition to progress in the execution of projects with indigenous communities, actions carried out by National Natural Parks and Invemar, managing to socialize the Node Action Plan for the period 2017 – 2020, where the commitments of the different actors in each of the activities and strategic lines are highlighted.

Además, The project to strengthen the technical secretary of the node was presented, formulated by Corpoguajira and whose main objective is to energize and strengthen the articulation processes between the different actors of the Node with specific actions for the next two years.
