He initiated the formulation of the Regional Climate Change Plan Integral de La Guajira

Corpoguajira, the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, the Government of La Guajira and the Business Environmental Corporation; They led the workbench which allows the construction and implementation of the Integrated Regional Climate Change Plan for the Department of La Guajira; an instrument to define the strategic lines of action and respective project portfolios of mitigation and adaptation, further options will boost social and economic development that rightly advance in the pursuit of environmental sustainability of the peninsula.

This collective initiative, also suggests a comprehensive approach to managing the risk associated with climate variability and change in patterns of land occupation, i.e., how to plan development under changing climatic conditions and existing situations of vulnerability.

Ente lines project work the following topics among others: adaptation actions to natural hazards, by all actors, especially productive sectors and the wider community; reducing vulnerability to the impacts of climate change; exploiting opportunities for international cooperation, to mitigate the problem and designing a dissemination plan, environmental awareness and education on this topic.

The activity was attended by representatives of the Municipalities, Special Administrative Unit of National Natural Parks, Dimar, relief agencies, environmental organizations and other entities.
