Over 400 people, departments from sisal growers in the country, will attend the meeting, which includes events in Riohacha and San Juan del Cesar

The 6 the 10 November this year, will be held in Riohacha and San Juan del Cesar, version of the XIII National Meeting of Fique, in order to encourage the production and transformation of this biodegradable natural fiber, economically viable and environmentally sustainable; establishing a framework for cooperation between the private sectors, public and academic; to strengthen and share successful experiences in the sector, at national and international level.

Over 400 people, departments from sisal growers in the country, will attend the meeting, which includes events in Riohacha and San Juan del Cesar.

The completion of the event will promote policies to strengthen the supply chain and show, also, La Guajira has the potential and conditions to lead the economic development of this agricultural product.

The National Meeting, es organized by Agrofique, Asomacana and the Board of the Reign and Fique Festival; organizations that aim to lead environmental programs that promote the use of fiber instead of plastic. As part of the agenda of the National Fibre Craft Competition will also be held Fique, an ecotourism tour of the natural beauty of La Junta, called "La Ruta del Cacique", academic sessions, the Reign of Fique, among other activities.
