The possibility of seeing many dolphins in some areas of La Guajira, department becomes a strategic point, national and global level, to expand the ecotourism offer of the peninsula, This was announced by Luis Medina Toro, General Manager Corpoguajira; Aminta Jáuregui, Director of Marine Mammal Conservation at the University Jorge Tadeo Lozano and Fernando Trujillo, Scientific Director of the Foundation Omacha.
Palomino, Dibiulla and Cabo de la Vela, would be the places that would implement pilot projects, through which the responsible management guidelines would be provided on the sighting and tourist use of aquatic mammals, ensuring conservation, security, preserving ecosystems and involving the communities dependent on this activity. Foregoing framed in the Plan of Conservation of Cetaceans, which is formulated so articulated between those entities and already has siginificativos advances which were socialized today fishermen and hoteliers Palomino (Dibulla), during release of 550 sea turtles on the beaches of the township.
