MORE OF 400 INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY OF SEYAMAKE WIWA, TODAY HAVE WATER

*Delivery of water treatment plant in the community Wiwa Seyamake

Thanks to the efforts carried out by Corpoguajira and UNDP, formal handover was made from a potable water plant donated by the company Acciona S.A.. Wiwa Seyamake the community in the municipality of Dibulla.

The water treatment has a treatment capacity 8 cubic meters per hour, It works with photovoltaics and has a storage tank 5.000 liters, enough to supply more than 400 people. It also has a pump that not only carries water from the river to the plant, but also a large tank that holds the community, which it will be used to irrigate their orchards and sugarcane crops, banana, cassava and papaya.

During delivery, a demonstration of the operation of the plant was, Wiwa where members of the community who were previously trained to operate it, they launched.

The plant that was delivered to the municipality, It will be administered by the company Aguas De Dibulla and will certainly improve the quality of life of these minority populations in the region, preventing the community suffering from diseases due to consumption of raw water directly from the river.

The Corporation values ​​and exalts such actions by firms in the department as is the case of Acciona S.A.. , and he cares for generating the interinstituicional joint to seek alternative solutions to mitigate environmental problems faced by indigenous communities in the department of La Guajira by lack of water resources.

Seyamake today enjoys drinking water and use the time taken daily water collection, improving their quality of life and agricultural actividaes.
