Over 1.000 Guajiros, have been trained in forest fire prevention

A total of 1.188 habitantes, of 50 corregimientos of the department, have been trained in forest fire prevention and control; by Corpoguajira and the Fundación Tabaco Nuevo Amanecer.

This interesting project has included a complete training cycle on the prevention mechanisms of this type of ignition., preventive forestry, community and family emergency plans.

Workshops have also been held on the protocol to follow in the event of a forest fire.; defensive and offensive attack; combat actions, combustible, heat, oxygen and clearance; ash guards and recovery time of an affected area.

Other topics, that have been treated are: components of fire, types of fires and their ways of propagation, parts of a forest fire, inter alia.

At training sessions, Municipal officials and officials from different organizations also participated., who addressed topics such as the social and environmental co-responsibility strategy in the fight against forest fires.
