From the southern department of La Guajira, environmental authority CORPOGUAJIRA, is executing the project called “Implementation of the Sectoral and Urban Environmental Management Program in the Municipalities of the Department of La Guajira” whose objective is the development of environmental education activities, with presence in the 15 guajiro municipalities territory.

In the development of its management, the Corporation agreed with the Perijá Women's Coffee Growers Cooperative (COOMUCAPE) in order to specify their participation in the process. Initially, training was provided in PROCEDAS and advice to carry out organic coffee production on the El Porvenir farm., located in the Las Mesas village in the municipality of Villanueva.

The scenario where these theoretical-practical trainings have been consecutively generated was chosen by the women of the cooperative., taking into account that it is the area where your coffee plantation is located, allowing you to apply knowledge in real time.

Corpoguajira contributes to the implementation of environmental education in each of the processes that warrant it for the conservation of ecosystems, increasing the improvement of environmental practices and promoting the empowerment of the different productive sectors of the department.
