The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, jointly with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, supports the promotion, the growth and consolidation of green businesses as a form of entrepreneurship that promotes environmental sentiment.

Green businesses emerge as community entrepreneurship opportunities. In this line of business, good environmental practices prevail and fair trade and responsible consumption opportunities are offered..

The corporation has thus far identified 69 green businesses with a rating higher than 51%, which shows the great potential of benefits of these companies for the sustainable use of biodiversity.

Among the green businesses in the department are ecotourism with a focus on resident and migratory bird watching, recognition of indigenous culture (handicrafts); production, processing and marketing of organic coffee harvested by women; manufacture of aluminum articles, handmade liqueur based on Iguaraya, inter alia.

Corpoguajira, the date advises and strengthens 20 green and sustainable businesses aiming at meeting the criteria established by the Minambiente program. Will be allowed to continue, also, with the accompaniment of Guajiro entrepreneurs to different spaces or platforms that contribute to the strategic relationship of their products as a business opportunity.
