In order to determine the operational actions, financial measures, logistical and administrative measures to ensure the operation of Regional Climate Change Node and Insular Caribbean, as an instrument to articulate national management, regional and local, in accordance with the new guidelines on climate change environmental policy, started today in San Andrés Island, a meeting of representatives of this organization.
The event setup, was headed by the Governor (It) of the Archipelago, Emiliana Bernard Stephenson; the Director of Coralina, Elizabeth Taylor Jay; the representative of the United Nations Development Program for Colombia, Xavier Hernández and the Regional Coordinator of the Node, Eliumat Maza Samper.
during the meeting, The following topics stand out among others:
• Socialization of the progress of the Node Action Plan.
• Presentation of the site map of the Caribbean and Insular Regional Node portal.
• Climate Change Training.
• Socialization of progress in adaptation pilots.
• Development of the educational communication strategy.
• Presentation of the financing proposal of the Technical Secretariat.
• Definition of commitments and dates of the activities to be carried out in the year 2012.
They are participating in the meeting, representatives of the Regional Autonomous Corporations (CAR) and the district environmental authorities with jurisdiction in the departments of La Guajira, Cease, Magdalena, Atlantic, Bolivar, Sugar, Córdoba and San Andrés Archipelago, Providencia and Santa Catalina.
Organizations such as Partners of The Americas Climate Cahnge Calss IV have gathered as special guests., BIORITY, RCS-LAC-UNDP, Clemson University and Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology and Forest Science.
