With the implementation of participatory management technologies, production and marketing of 34.5 cocoa hectares (transitional and permanent dark cassava timber), 23 families of small producers from the corregimiento of Juan y Medio (Riohacha), significantly improve their income and quality of life.
La iniciativa, develops in an articulated manner between Corpoguajira, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Government of La Guajira and the Association of Afro-Colombian Peasant Families of the department; within the framework of the Support for Productive Alliances program, which seeks to generate income, create employment and promote social cohesion in the country's poor rural communities, supporting financial agribusiness, socially and environmentally sustainable.
The commercial partner of the project is the Compañía Nacional de Chocolates, company that guaranteed the purchase of cocoa harvested by Guajiro producers.
