They successfully carry out the first Coastal Erosion Workshop in La Guajira

alt

Today the first workshop on Coastal Erosion was held within the framework of the Corpoguajira Agreement – Andean Development Corporation –CAF-

The event was attended by representatives of the municipalities of Dibulla, Riohacha, Manaure y Uribia.

The technical and social consulting teams that were part of this activity, made interesting observations about the phenomenon of Coastal Erosion in the department of La Guajira. Such is the case of Dr.. Rafael Guardado (University of Cuba) who showed evidence of erosive processes and some important advances of his work on the Caribbean coast.

The event began with welcome words from the Institutional Delegate for Coastal and Climate Change Issues, Ing. Eliumat Maza Samper; This was followed by scientific and field presentations by the companies Aluna Consultores and Seiprodeg Ltda.. Working tables were held and conclusions and recommendations were agreed upon by the entire attending community..

“With all this work, Corpoguajira's institutional commitment to supporting processes of mitigation and adaptation of the effects of climate change is ensured through appropriate strategies that serve authorities and communities to improve their quality of life.”, Manifesto Arcesio Romero Perez, General Manager Corpoguajira.
