“We are pleased with the delivery and operation of the automatic air quality measurement station with which we will have information in real time that will allow us to make decisions within the framework of our exercise of environmental authority.. with this installation, also, we strengthen the air quality system in the department of La Guajira to continue safeguarding the life and health of our inhabitants”, said the Director of Corpoguajira, Samuel Lanao Robles.
Additionally, I specify that five environmental watchmen of the Wayúu ethnic group will support the environmental alerts issued by this system., will contribute to your care and will transmit the knowledge
pollution source technician, to the shelter community.
Meanwhile, Sergio Hernandez, professional of the Ministry of Environment, explained that “this is a very important achievement. We are seeing advances in air quality monitoring and the idea is that the watchmen strengthen this work. We want the community to be able to permanently learn about the monitoring station and its different functions”.
Finally, the environmental entity confirmed that two stations with the same characteristics will be installed in the coming days; one at the Jepirachi Wind Farm (Uribia) seeking to exercise control over the port activities of loading and handling coal and the second in Mingueo (Dibulla) to know the concentrations that are influenced by the traffic of trucks loaded with coal, the operation of Termoguajira and Puerto Brisa.
