The Arhuaco ica, known as the butterfly of the arhuacos is in vulnerability at the national level. It's kind of a 50 mm in length, with dull brown wings and a series of white spots on the hindwings, is an endemic butterfly from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta massif, fly among the 2600 and 3100 m altitude.

This butterfly frequents Andean forests and cloud forests, feeding on leaves of various plants at night. It is considered threatened because its areal distribution reproduction has been interrupted by human activities..

Another of its main threats is afforestation as a consequence of agricultural expansion., since it also influences the issue of livestock, logging and illicit crops.
