In order to generate institutional strategic articulation to find structural solutions to mitigate environmental problems that threaten the department, MESA Environmental Technical settled for the Department of La Guajira, which was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Carlos Alberto Botero.

A the event attended the Regional Autonomous Corporation Guajira, Ministry of Environment, Ideas, Government of La Guajira, National Parks, National Police, Risk Management Unit, mayoralties of the department, control entities, representatives of sectors, leaders and key players in La Guajira.

This table was a place where Corpoguajira Director presented the main environmental problems identified in the department in which they are, coastal erosion, vertimientos, climate change, trafficking in wildlife and solid waste management, inter. Likewise, other attendees talked about specific issues that directly affect municipalities and communities, in order to manage resources and point solutions to implement projects that allow to solve environmental needs in the department.

They also were given vulnerability studies climate change risk by IDEAM to Corpoguajira, which will be replicated to municipalities for use as a key tool in the development of land use plans in each municipality.

The articulation of these institutions is vitally important to deliver answers and solutions necessary against environmental issues that have been presented in the region, product phenomena climate variability.
