ENVIRONMENT WEEK, CREATIVITY SPACE, REFLECTION AND AWARENESS. EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS,

POLICE,

PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COMPANIES COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT.

Last 5 June we celebrate World Environment Day. This year the UN proposed the slogan “GET WILD FOR LIFE”, a direct message to reject the illicit trade in wild fauna and flora.. This cry was heard around the world. In La Guajira, Corpoguajira celebrated environment week, with recreational and educational events in which educational institutions participated, private businesses, civil and military authorities and the Mayor's Office of Riohacha among others.

The environmental week, began with the graduation ceremony 52 young rangers. The graduates received training for four months, thanks to Corpoguajira the Environmental Police who taught them basic rules for responsible care of the environment and its natural wealth. With the support of the Environmental Police, the dinner, Cerrejón, Asaa, The Ecological House and Corpoguajira, the young people of the educational institution Denzil Escolar, They held the first craft fair with recyclable and reusable material.

The waste of creativity and manual dexterity were the protagonists of the inspiring event. For their part, the directors of the Enrique Lallemand school promoted the development of the environmental meeting within the framework of the celebration of World Environment Day. The creation of a space for reflection generated the commitment to the formulation of a School Environmental Project (PLEDGE) that will allow innovation in the management of solid waste in the student population. Finally, the Mayor's Office of Riohacha in alliance with Corpoguajira, Uniguajira, Environmental police, Preserve Foundation, Asaa among others closed the environment week with a panel in the Parque de la Vida.

The determined participation of the community in a reflective dialogue on the environmental problems facing today's Tourist District, favored the generation of a new commitment to the environment as the only option to enjoy fundamental and related rights such as life and health.
