The formation of the lookouts, was achieved through the joint work between Corpoguajira and Lenis Foundation. Thirty people were trained Cotoprix and Monguí (Riohacha), which will take charge of caring, watch, monitor and implement actions aimed at preventing, protect and conserve the natural resources of the protected area Bañaderos
Los watches, are native leaders, students, Residents and environmentalists in the same communities living in the hinterland area; they will become guardians of nature, for the management and use of environment meets the standards and the responsibility that assists the community to care a rich land, healthy, productive and sustainable, for the benefit of present and future generations.
The training cycle developed in five modules, including issues related to environmental services Cerro addressed Bañaderos, human development, leadership, ecotourism, group organization, project design and environmental report man – nature.
This process will encourage the development of local communities as a basis for poverty reduction and sustainable use of natural resources, decreasing deterioration and traffic of species of flora and fauna of the protected area, promoting sustainable productivity that will improve the quality of life of those who are settled in the area.
