Our region has its geography with mangroves Integrated Management District Musichi (Manaure) and the Los Flamencos Sanctuary (Riohacha). The mangrove habitat is a forest formed by species of woody plants that develop in lagoons, banks and protected tropical coasts. The vast biological diversity include birds, peces, shellfish. But this ecosystem has been threatened by the expansion of the agricultural frontier, port activities, the use of timber and tourism activities. In this regard, Corpoguajira, He has socialized with the community to participate in the restoration project of mangrove ecosystems in Riohacha and Manaure. It seeks to raise public awareness of the importance of mangrove ecosystems for the department of La Guajira.
