ADVANCES THE STRENGTHENING OF GREEN BUSINESSES IN LA GUAJIRA

Corpoguajira managed to formalize 20 productive units where peasants, indigenous people and guardians of the environment and peace can generate economic income through activities that contribute to the environment and the sustainable development of the department.

In its responsibility for improving the quality of life and social welfare for the Guajira population, Corpoguajira had the accompaniment of the Universidad del Atlántico who supported during 10 months in the execution of activities aimed at strengthening these productive units; With the knowledge of professionals in accounting and business creation, they were able to join forces to train entrepreneurs from the municipalities of Riohacha., Dibulla, Manaure, San Juan del Cesar, Maicao, Hatonuevo, Barrancas and Fonseca.

Within the process, the productive units were identified, to guide them to the constitution of the business model where the needs of each unit were evident; are complying with the 12 criteria established by the green and sustainable business program attached to the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Corpoguajira within the units supports women coffee growers, peasants rooted in the area, guardians of fauna and flora, reincorporated and indigenous; the foregoing in order to boost the economy through ecotourism and organic production, avoiding damages to guajiro ecosystems.
