Since 2 years old, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira – CORPOGUAJIRA, As a representative actor of the Department's environmental sector, it has been jointly supporting the construction of a Prospective Agenda for La Guajira., as a tool to help the planning of the territory that promotes competitiveness and the integral development of its inhabitants.

For that, progress has been made in a first phase through a process of dialogue and consultation, with which it has been possible to expose the current situation of the department, identifying the causes that shape it, setting the desired goals. The result of this process was that the focus and priority development for La Guajira should be given in 3 fundamental axes: The education, the intercultural and the construction of a new economy, without leaving aside the environmental baseline as the articulating axis for territorial development.

in the present year,advances with the second phase called PROSPER GUAJIRA, in the municipalities of Hatonuevo, Albania and Dibulla respectively, deepening and strengthening the process, which supported the Territorial Environmental Planning Group of the Planning Advisory Office of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, the contribution of the environmental authority focused on relating environmental issues to the planning processes of the department.

This phase focused on defining the roadmap or trajectory of the actions that allow transcending in compliance with the objectives set., integrating efforts, specifying initiatives and managing resources that contribute to land use planning. The objective of the workshop in this phase consisted of three moments: in the first they identified, prioritized and defined the most important objectives for the municipalities mentioned above, according to the fundamental axes or most relevant strategic lines that emerged in the first phase, in the second they valued the local importance of each one of the departmental purposes.

Taking into account previously established scales, and the third, taking into account the importance of the purposes, their strengths and opportunities were identified; This work will provide a response for the region in the field of territorial planning that will improve the quality of life of the peasants and guarantee the sustainable development of the department..
