CORPOGUAJIRA CONTINUES THE WORKING TO BUILD ALLOW THE PLAN OF ACTION 2020 – 2023

With the participation of more than 1.000 inhabitants of the department successfully developed the workshops arranged for the collection of information to allow the construction of the Action Plan 2020 – 2023 of the environmental authorities of Guajira.

Corpoguajira has traveled to date 14 fifteen municipalities within its jurisdiction, with the presence of officials professionally primary cover environmental issues for the development of their exercise in the department.

Eight programs are placed in the workshops where government forces have participated, municipal authorities, Business, educational institutions and the general community, interposing environmental needs that arise in their sector and forge valuable strategies to remedy damage to natural resources of the region.

The formulation of the baseline for the consolidation of programs to be implemented in this quadrennium have as goal to overcome problems such as repetitively are received in each municipality, on:

  1. biodiversity:
  • Strengthening environmental governance in protected areas.
  • Deforestation.
  • Overexploitation of wild flora and wildlife.
  1. environmental land management:
  • POT and EOT update.
  • Implement actions to climate change.
  • Retaking early warning system.
  1. Air:
  • Pollution uncontrolled fires.
  • Fuel gas emission.
  • Proliferation of gases in slaughterhouses.
  1. Water:
  • Pollution of water resources.
  • Decreased flow.
  • Mal wastewater treatment.
  1. environmental authority:
  • dumps satellites.
  • Poor treatment of landfills.
  • Abandonment of land.
  • environmental crimes.
  1. Environmental education:
  • Lack of environmental culture.
  • Reformulating management PRAES - PROCEED - CIDEA.
  • Improper disposal of solid waste.
  1. Environmental management, sectoral and urban:
  • Strengthen Recyclers Association.
  • Increase in school tree planting and urban areas.
  • Strengthening ecotourism in the region.
  1. Coastal marine:
  • Implement actions to mitigate coastal erosion.
  • Create planning for beach management.
  • Sedimentation of the mouth of the River Rancheria.

Notably Corporation implemented 4 additional tables, giving priority to the Indians of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Wayuu, population living in the village of Puerto Estrella, Uribia and negritudes, with the firm intention of formulating an action plan inclusive and help mitigate the specific needs of vulnerable communities in their jurisdiction.

Conducting the negotiation tables they are embedded in the requirement of the Law 152 of 1994 of the Congress of the Republic that establishes the procedures and mechanisms for the development, approval, execution, tracing, evaluation and monitoring of development plans and sobrevinientes.
