CORPOGUAJIRA EVALUATE SOLUTIONS FOR INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES Wayuu RIOHACHA

For the purpose of seeking solutions to the problems currently affecting indigenous Wayuu District of Riohacha, Corpoguajira team Closer to the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, he moved to the community of Campo Alegre, where a concentration held with several Wayuu indigenous communities.

La Lomita, Aluwatachon, Caricari2, Apurimana2, Tiger Trap, Campo Alegre, Puerto pacheco, The Jope and Galilee, among other communities, They were participate during concentration.

It was also attended by key players such as the Minister for the Indians before the board, Zoila Brito; the delegate table dialogue Wayuu, Alberto Mendoza Amaya; traditional authority Solivita, Israel Ballesteros and the legal representative association Suliwaou traditional authorities, Carlos Benito. Those representing communities, They expressed their concerns and the situation faced by the scarcity of water resources and problems that are triggered in the framework of the oxidation pond and landfill Riohacha.

In response to these communities, Corpoguajira promised to make evaluation visits to the different situations that have been presented, in order to seek short-term solutions within their environmental legal powers. Also they offered articulate the various bodies responsible, solving other problems beyond the scope of the Corporation, in order to improve the quality of life of these indigenous Wayuu.
