In his missionary exercise Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira continues on the path along the beaches of the District verifying that there lie establishments comply with current environmental regulations.

Company officials showed poor environmental management in the area where is located the shop Waya Coco Beach imposing preventive measure consisting of suspension of activities. This property is placed in stacks of wood on the sand, a stand of timber manufacturing two floors for the sale of drinks, portable enclosure bathroom with sticks.

During the inspection were observed impacts on the ecosystem beach, the accumulation of solid waste found at the side of the portable toilet; garbage remains the lack of cleanliness and poor provision added to the action of the wind makes disperses throughout the beach area causing pollution to the sandy substrate and landscape.

Other damages were evidenced in the removal of the vegetation in the substrate from the beach, using palm as anchors for attaching outlets tiptoe nailing in them and lack of disposal of plant material removed from the substrate both as the palms.

To environmental damages are found preventive measure imposed on the commercial establishment Waya Coco Beach by Resolution No. 0420 of 19 February 2020, in order to prevent the continuation of an activity and situation is attacking the environment, natural resources and natural landscape.

Corpoguajira in its exercise, reiterates that, at the time of granting temporary occupancy permit Beach, the applicant must apply the concept of environmental sustainability to this environmental authority, It prerequisite that serves as input for the District to grant or deny permission.

The environmental authority calls on local authorities to consolidate actions and allow the activity of the regulated establishments under Colombian law, thus achieving mitigate impacts on ecosystems.
