Taking into account that the activities carried out in the old mother of the Ancho river, located in the municipality of Dibulla, they were carried out without having the riverbed occupation permit and in the face of evidence of environmental damage to the body of water, CORPOGUAJIRA, imposed a suspension of works and the opening of an investigation to determine the environmental damage caused to the natural resources of the studied perimeter.

During the visits made by professionals of the corporation, it was determined that the works with machinery and the intervention on the lagoon system, caused damage to herbaceous vegetation and crustacean species present in the area.

The decision takes effect immediately and implies that the offender takes the necessary measures to have the permits required by Colombian environmental regulations.. In addition to that in the area covered by the intervened body of water, cannot carry out recreational activities for economic purposes, as well as the profiling of the slopes on the margins of the lagoon and the adequate disposition of the material extracted so that it cannot be carried away by the currents in rainy seasons.

Corpoguajira will rigorously monitor the intervention site in order to exercise control and vigilance over the recovery of the body of water. It also invites the inhabitants of the department to comply with the procedures enshrined in environmental regulations when they need to carry out an intervention that affects the natural resources of our jurisdiction..
