In order to strengthen and implement the Citizen Project of Environmental Education: Conservation and Protection of Strategic Systems Tapias River in the department of La Guajira, a space for consultation was held between the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, members of the Proceda and the environmental management area Fundeban, where a commitment to fully support the implementation of conservation actions was agreed, watch out, sustainable and responsible use of water resources.

Corpoguajira has been working in alliance with Fundeban prioritizing three environmental aspects: promoting environmental education among the different users of the lower basin of the Tapias River; reducing the levels of environmental pollution through strategies and institutional community mechanisms; and strengthening the control and surveillance of the strategic ecosystems of the lower basin of the Tapias River.

These actions are intended to involve educational institutions in the agricultural corridor, to the children who make up environmental clubs, community in general and guardians of the environment, in order to generate environmental awareness and achieve a sustainable and responsible use of water resources.

Achieving the materialization of an enterprise with a sustainable approach in the associative modality is one of the initiatives that is targeted in 2021.
