CORPOGUAJIRA FUNDEBAN SIGNED AND ALLIANCE FOR THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF RIVER SYSTEMS STRATEGIC TAPIAS

Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira and Social Foundation Tecbaco S.A - FUNDEBAN signed voluntary agreement to implement the Citizens' Environmental Education Project: Conservation and Protection of Strategic Systems Tapias River in the department of La Guajira, which will be valid for two years and will impact communities and ecosystems located in the lower part of the basin.

Corpoguajira includes within its action plan to boost the development of Citizens Environmental Education Projects (you proceed) and at the initiative of FUNDEBAN, This partnership is established, to formulate a participatory manner with the community with a PROCEED that aims to preserve and protect strategic ecosystems in the basin of river Tapias and promote environmental education and tourism promotion, based on good environmental practices among its users, which aims to intervene to achieve the formation of ethical and responsible citizens against the management of renewable natural resources, with a population aware of their rights and environmental duties within the group to which it belongs and agenciar capable of building an environmentally sustainable culture.

The Environmental Education Project Citizen states 3 components: promote environmental education among the different users of the lower basin of Río Tapias, reduce levels of environmental pollution through community and institutional strategies and mechanisms and strengthen the control and monitoring of strategic ecosystems of the lower basin of the river Tapias.
