Corpoguajira decentralized the activities allusive to the commemoration of World Water Day. The day post-consumer product collection pesticides, the official presentation of the need for the formulation of the Ten-Year Plan for Environmental Education and departmental compass and the development of leisure and recreational activities in different educational institutions, allowed the participation of various stakeholders.

Riohacha, Dr. Cantor Fanny Cortes of Branch and Participation MADS (Ministry of Environment and Social Development), He formalized the need to substantiate a document of public policies that serve as rutero in La Guajira to implement environmental education activities around water, treatment, rational use, watershed conservation and water sources mainly.

According to the official of MADS, in three months it must be completed basic document of the Ten-Year Plan for Environmental Education 2018-2027. An alliance led by the minister allow its execution to be undergoing examination and approval by the Departmental Assembly ordinance.

Responsibility for the contents of the Ten-Year Plan for Environmental Education rests with the active participation of each municipality CIDEA (Interagency Technical Committee on Environmental Education), community members, Presidents of JAC (Community Action Boards), teachers and students of universities in La Guajira, commercial section, public institutions and private companies, advised by the MADS.

The second activity to commemorate World Water Day, It took place in the municipality of Fonseca; Corpoguajira summoned Rice Farmers Union and entrepreneurs to develop a post-consumer campaign pesticide containers and give proper disposal avoiding contamination of water sources with the remaining contents. The day was completed after a process of awareness and personal visits to growers and producers.

Activity led Corpoguajira, Territorial Headquarters South; Foundation actively participated the Bioentorno, The Colombian Institute of Agriculture, ICA; Hortifrutícola Association of Colombia, Asohofrucol, Fedearroz, Solagro distributor and the municipalities of Fonseca and Distraction.

It should be noted that the recovery of hazardous pesticide residues, is framed in the actions of shared responsibility Bioentorno Foundation is running with the authorities of departmental order, Municipal, Business, associations and producers in the region in order to comply with the provisions of resolutions whose contents normalize post-consumer veterinary shares expired medicines and pesticides, respectively, recognizing their high contamination in water sources especially.

The commemoration allowed the realization of leisure and recreational activities for students of educational institutions of Fonseca in which students from Cristo Rey and attended Immaculate Conception; also sealed engagement with partners Lions Club to conduct activities to raise awareness of the precious liquid as forming element and generator life.
