A group of 80 people, mostly made up of young indigenous Wayuu, They are the new Guardians of the Environment and Peace, who committed and were trained to share environmental awareness; working in coordination with Corpoguajira for transformations on climate change, biodiversity and postconflict.

To do the Guardians of the Environment and Peace participated in the seminar put forward the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira in coordination with the University of La Guajira, the babbler Germán Aguilar, ABIUDEA, INVEMAR, DIMAR, SUE Caribe, the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala and the University of Córdoba International Workshop on Sustainable Development Alternatives: Management of Natural Resources from the perspective of traditional knowledge of local communities where they were trained about the risk that has pollution in water sources, public policy in coastal areas, the territory body and good living memory, environmental services, among other papers they persuaded and train participants.

These spaces allow strengthen environmental conservation and biodiversity, to achieve sustainable environmental development in the department. Also instruct the Wayuu on handling and proper functioning of the resources they have in each of their territories.

Corpoguajira bets to changing environmental awareness through education, therefore it encourages this type of space so that strategic allies as the Guardians of the Environment and Peace initiatives can strengthen environmental care and preservation of the fauna and flora of La Guajira. Contributing to peace and providing solutions to conflicts over use of natural resources and biodiversity in communities.
