The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira – Corpoguajira progress in the implementation of community tree planting projects in areas of social interest; One of these projects was carried out for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Lomas del Trupillo urbanization, located in the south of the district urban area.

This time, professionals from the entity and the executing contractor agreed with the neighborhood council, delivering under adoption 230 shady and fruit trees, of species like mango, medlar, idiot, toasted corn and black olive.

For the development of this activity, representatives of 201 families belonging to that community previously participated in the process of identifying the areas to be planted and in the training sessions on tree care and maintenance.

During the day of arborization and adoption, the benefited residents planted the trees to improve the vegetation cover in the front and the patio of their homes., as well as the common green areas of the main streets of the newly founded urbanization.

Now the community of Lomas del Trupillo will be able to use their time and resources in the healthy and important task of contributing to the improvement of the environmental conditions of their homes and of the sector in general by caring for the sponsored children.. In this process they expect the support of the institutions of the District of Riohacha, at the same time that the procedures for the formal delivery of the property titles of their homes are being carried out.
