In its responsible performance Corpoguajira, entity that within its functions has the obligation to ensure the natural resources of the department, including water sources, advances in the issue of the formalization of small miners and the constitution of an associative company with the paleros of the place through the CGS agreement 326 to this end, signed with the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

Corpoguajira is respectful in each citizen initiative of the uses and customs of each sector; for this reason the execution of each solution, day or project is carried out prior to the request or agreement of the community and is involved in supervision so that they are managers of their own development.

The Villanueva River needs many days of cleaning, awareness of its inhabitants so as not to contribute to its pollution and ensure its conservation, but thanks to the massive participation of the Mayor's Office of Villanueva and its mayor Alberto Baquero, the dumpsters association, paleros, citizenship in general, the Seine, Interaseo S.A. E.S.P., Santo Tomas Hospital, inter alia, the first day was considered a resounding success.
